How to convert Celsius to Kelvin
Temperature scales have different zero points, so use the formula K = °C + 273.15 rather than a multiplier. The table below applies it to common values; for the opposite direction use the Kelvin to Celsius converter.
About these units
Celsius (°C)
The Celsius scale sets 0 °C at the freezing point of water and 100 °C at its boiling point at standard pressure. It is the everyday temperature scale almost everywhere outside the United States.
Kelvin (K)
The kelvin is the SI unit of temperature, starting at absolute zero (0 K = −273.15 °C). Kelvin steps are the same size as Celsius degrees, and no degree sign is used.
